The Münsterland region is perfect for spending a couple of days unwinding.
In Germany's No. 1 cycling paradise, you can enjoy riding your bicycle on a network of over 4500 km of well-signposted cycle paths in the Münsterland region. There are more than 100 castles in the Münsterland region and the famous "100 Castle Route" combines these historical monuments with the enjoyment of cycling across its 1400 km.
Horse racing enthusiasts will also get their money's worth. The Westphalian Equestrian Centre and Westphalian Riding and Driving School are based right here in Münster-Handorf. Visitors to the Münsterland region will find all kinds of interesting horse-related activites on offer, such as the stallion parades (September/October) in Warendorf, the wild horse round-up (the last weekend in May) in the Merfelder Bruch at Dülmen and, for active people, the "Friedensreiter" ("peace riders'") route.
Meanwhile, the Münsterland region has also become a hotspot for hot air and gas balloon pilots. In balloonist terms, the balloon is driven rather than flown. Are you interested in taking a trip?
Canoeing and kayaking in the Münsterland region is an unforgettable experience. The river Ems and the river Werse are only a stone's throw away.
